Colorado Snowkiting

Colorado snowkiting is a way for you to merge wind and skiing or snowboarding. Normally wind is the nemesis on the slopes, but with this innovative sport, wind is your friend.

It can be a little pricey, but once you learn it, then you won't have any lift costs. You'll just have to pray for wind and snow. You really need a lesson, so expect to pay a few hundred dollars for that and about $100 a day for renting the equipment. If you decide you love it, then expect to pay about $1000 or higher for all of the equipment.

Take a look at the video below for more details.

You can take a look at Kite Force's website.

One great benefit of snowkiting is the ability to go uphill, however, you'll have to be very advanced for that. Some people are actually going long distances and doing some back country exploring.

I've actually never seen this sport until I saw this video, but the history actually goes back to the 1960s and people are doing it all over the world.

If you get any videos or photos from doing it, please let us know about it. I'll mention it in my Colorado Newsletter and give you credit for your work. I'm sure you'll have a great story to go with that.
