Garden of the Gods: How Does Beer Figure in?

When I was reading through Wikipedia about the Garden of the Gods, a little story from history stuck out to me.

In 1859, Colorado City was looking to expand and learn more about the area, so they sent out two surveyors named M.S. Beach and Rufus Cable to explore the area.  Beach suggested that the area would be a "capital place for a beer garden."  Rufus begged to differ and said, "Beer Garden! Why it is a fit place for the gods to assemble.  We will call it the Garden of the Gods."  That name stuck and the rest is history.

You'll Have Stunning Views to Pike Peak

The tallest rock rises up to 320 feet, so it is a mecca for rock climbers.  The last time I was there, the deer would walk by you less than 10 feet away. If possible, bring your bikes.  There are some great trails throughout the park.
